Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have officially released Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth installment in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man saga and the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film serves as a direct sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home, taking Peter Parker back to his street-level roots after the universe forgot his civilian identity.

Plot: Peter Parker Starts Over
Set four years after the events of No Way Home, Peter Parker is living alone in New York after Doctor Strange’s memory spell erased his identity from everyone he knew.
Separated from MJ and Ned, Peter dedicates himself entirely to life as Spider-Man. However, the emotional and physical strain of living alone begins triggering unexpected changes in his spider abilities, forcing him to confront both a dangerous internal transformation and rising criminal threats across the city.
Unlike recent MCU films focused on multiverse events, Brand New Day returns to a more grounded story centered on Peter’s personal struggles, responsibility, and everyday life.

Inspired by the Comics
The movie borrows its title from Marvel Comics’ famous “Brand New Day” storyline published in The Amazing Spider-Man #546–564.
Following the controversial One More Day arc, the comics reset Peter Parker’s life by restoring his secret identity and introducing several new villains, including Mister Negative and Menace.
While the MCU adaptation tells an original story, it draws heavily from the comic’s central theme of Peter rebuilding his life from scratch.
